Our 2021 Conference Theme:
Lean On Us: Strength in Community
This year, we all have witnessed many life-changing and historic movements made in history. That is why the Midwest Chinese American Student Association has decided that the theme for the third Annual Conference will be finding Strength in Community.
Amidst a pandemic, People of Color (POC) witnessed the importance of supporting one another more than ever. With so many unanswered questions, we find comfort in our family and friends for support. We encourage the community to lean on one another in order to stand strongly together. We should actively be compromising, hearing, listening, respecting, and remembering history.
We want to remind the community that you are never alone with whatever you are going through. You have a strong support system that you can depend on. Everyone undergoes different experiences, but these differences should never divide us; you are never alone. With this theme in mind, we implore you to remember the Strength in Community whether that be at school, in your student organizations, at home, work, etc.

Become a workshop speaker or panelist!
Apply here before December 20, 2020! Your workshop doesn't need to relate directly to our theme, but feel free to use it as inspiration! Workshops would be 60 minutes long on one of the two days, and you should expect 30-50 participants per session. For more details on the process as well as topic ideas, check out this FAQ document. Who
MCASA includes but is not limited to all universities within the Midwest region. We welcome everyone to attend our conferences. In the past, we’ve had students from University of Minnesota, Ohio State University, Michigan State University, Kansas State University, etc. Add to our growing list by joining us in our 2021 Conference!
Why
MCASA is a platform to build a professional culture for all Chinese Americans in the Midwest. We are a resource for Chinese American students and organizations. Our conference allows you a chance to interact virtually, build connections across the Midwest, promote your school, and to gain experience to potentially plan your own conference.
When/Where
Our next conference will take place virtually from March 13 - 14, 2021.
